Watching TV on the computer may be one of my biggest vices. It is so convenient to download an episode of a TV show that I have missed, or pop in a DVD of a TV show I love when someone else is watching a show on the television. For those of us with families, watching our favorite TV shows on the computer is a great way to stay in touch with the story line and characters of the shows we love to watch.

Watching TV shows on the computer is as simple as a click of the mouse; most big networks offer the TV shows for free on their website. You may also be able to access an archive menu that allows you to watch old episodes of your TV show on the computer, or download the shows for a small free and record them to enjoy again and again. Downloading programs for long trips is also a great idea, just take your laptop along and a long ride may be a more enjoyable experience.

It’s also a great idea to watch TV shows on the computer that you have missed, since many shows, like soap operas, change daily. Keeping up with your favorite TV show is easy when you don’t have to try to take the remote from your husband, or try once more to pry the kids away from Saturday morning cartoon to keep up with your programs. Since many of my favorite TV shows are only on when I am working, or have other responsibilities, watching TV on the computer is my main choice for viewing.
